After announcing an expansion to its Club Land programming last month, NXNE has just announced its first wave of performers that will hit the stage when the festival makes its comeback to Yonge-Dundas Square this June. Local legends Jazz Cartier, Sean Leon and Cadence Weapon are on the lineup alongside controversial talent Azealia Banks and New Orleans bounce pioneer Big Freedia, an underground superstar that received widespread notoriety after being sampled by both Beyonce and Drake in recent years.

NXNE has revamped it's programming yet again this year after some unsavory feedback they received about last year's festival. They seem to be taking it in stride, however, and even released a self-deprecating and tongue-in-cheek video in which they address the growing pans and their plans to change which you can see above.

The full lineup for the Club Land series has also been released, and includes Saya, Myst Milano, La Timpa, Just John and a slew of other acts that will perform at over 30 showcases throughout the week. Wristbands which give access to all the shows can be purchased now for just $29
