Katy Perry Patches Feud by Sending Olive Branch to Taylor Swift

It seems like the "bad blood" is gone.

The long drawn out feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry appears to be coming to a close, as the latter star extended an olive branch Swift's way by sending her...oh, an actual olive branch. It appeared on Swift's Instagram stories feed on the opening night of her Reputation Tour, and judging by the words "Thank you Katy," paired with a few hearts, it appears to have been a welcome gift:

Here’s some of what can be read from the letter Katy Perry sent Taylor Swift:

“Hello old friend—

I’ve been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and hard feelings between us. I really want to clear the air. —— I’m deeply sorry for...” pic.twitter.com/Jwe9rBDdBZ

Probably the most notable thing to come from the feud was 2014's "Bad Blood." During that same year Swift told Rolling Stonethat the song was inspired by a fellow female artist who she claimed back-stabbed her.

"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” Swift told the magazine at the time. “She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’ [Then in 2013] she did something so horrible. I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ … She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me … I don’t think there would be any personal problem if she weren’t competitive.”

Perry responded with 2017's "Swish Swish" featuring Nicki Minaj, and also told James Corden on Carpool Karaoke: "Honestly, it’s really like she started it, and it’s time for her to finish it. I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble. It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I’m like, ‘OK, cool, cool, cool, that’s how you want to deal with it? Karma!’ But what I want to say is that I’m ready for that BS to be done."
