Charli XCX is one of the most prolific pop stars around, and her surprise banger “5 in the Morning” is here to remind everyone she’s not slowing down anytime soon.

Over a trap-inspired beat from Invisible Men, Charli goes off on wannabes and fakes in one of her most hip-hop influenced tracks to date. "Think you're the sickest like you got diseases/But you ain't got nothing on this,” she spits.

She dedicates the chorus to her killer work ethic, evidenced by her two 2017 projects, consistent stream of singles, features, and music videos directed for herself and others. "I'm goin' all in/It's 5 in the mornin', I'm busy ballin'/I ain't even stoppin'/It's 5 in the mornin', I'm so devoted,” she sings.

This new music comes less than 24 hours after Charli announced she would be dropping “a lot music this year.”

Prior to this track, Charli was featured on Rita Ora’s controversial song “Girls,” alongside Cardi B and Bebe Rexha. Many accused the track of feeding problematic stereotypes about queer love and bisexuality. Charli later addressed the backlash, tellingRolling Stone "I apologize to any people I've offended by that."

No word yet on when or if an album will follow December 2017's Pop 2 mixtape, but there’s no doubt more music is on the way. Charli is also currently touring with Taylor Swift and Camila Cabello.
