At Monday night’s Met Gala, Offset and his crew dressed in their Sunday Versace best per the theme Heavenly Bodies. Of course, Migos couldn’t come through without drippin, but unfortunately, the next day, one of Offset’s many chains, worth a whopping $150,000, was reportedly stolen.
According to TMZ, police say the chain was stolen sometime Tuesday evening from Offset’s hotel room in Manhattan. Cardi B is reportedly the one who had to break the news to her fiancé, after he left the chain on a coffee table in the hotel room. It’s not yet clear which of his many chains was stolen, but judging by photos from Monday night’s event, the thief definitely had plenty of options. Hopefully it’s not the beautiful 'Bando' chain Cardi gifted him on Valentine's Day. Cops are reportedly looking at surveillance footage to see if they can find the perp.
Offset’s chain getting stolen is sadly just one of several fiascos that took place around the Met Gala. At about 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Migos’ security assaulted an overzealous man who was hounding pregnant Cardi B for an autograph. The artists and security guards were gone by the time police arrived, and the NYPD is currently investigating the attack.
“If you check my tag pics I take a lot of pics with fans. Some people are not fans & sometimes I don’t want no pics and I simply don’t want people too close cause of [my pregnancy]," Cardi wrote about the incident in a since-deleted tweet. “I don’t know what are people’s intentions sooo I be careful. Why can’t people respect that?”
Offset's team did not immediately respond to Complex's request for comment.
