While most things in the business of entertainment are a case of supply and demand, sometimes we end up with things that nobody ever asked for. Taylor Swift dropped two Spotify exclusive singles today — one, an acoustic version of her song "Delicate" and the other a cover of the legendary Earth, Wind, & Fire song "September." We're not sure why, but it happened.

Swift's rendition strips away the classic's horns, percussion and well, soul, replacing it with soft banjo accompaniment instead. While that might be familiar territory for Swift, it changes the entire vibe of the song to more of a country ballad than the upbeat original we all know and love. In the end, the song still feels a bit too big for Swift's airy vocals even in its stripped down form. Listen to the track below.

As expected, people on Twitter were not having it. Check out some of the best reactions below.

Seriously, @taylorswift13 cover of "September" by Earth Wind & Fire, adding banjos....is like adding raisins to potato salad....

OMG, I found an image w/ potato salad with raisins...we living in the last days.

As if Taylor Swift having a career wasn’t an act of terrorism already, she really covered “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. Maurice White is rolling in his grave.

Y'all have to stop saying Taylor Swift "covered" anything. She did bad karaoke. Let's move on.
