When Nines released "I See You Shining" two weeks ago, fans were happy to finally hear some new music from the Church Road rapper, who had been relatively quiet since the release of his (No. 4) debut album, One Foot Out, a year prior. The song has since given him his first Top 40 single, proving that he has both a loyal fanbase and star quality to continue the incredible run he's been on musically. Following this came the announcement earlier this week that his second release on XL Recordings would be entitled Crop Circle and would be coming as soon as Friday. The announcement has been accompanied by a short film of the same name, written, directed and co-starring the man himself, who previews some of the album tracks in the process.

Guiding the viewer through his North West London estate, the film is filled with both humour and weighty moments anchored with a sense of reality that is rarely depicted in films and television. With cameos coming from the likes of J Hus, Ghetts, MoStack, Mist, Skrapz and more added to the list of other scene heavyweights who feature on the album (Ray BLK, Dave, Tiggs Da Author), Nines shows that while collaboration is healthy, he is still the man when it comes to UK rap. Crop Circle is available to watch above.

UPDATE (April 20): The album can be heard in full below.
