Janelle Monáe's Dirty Computer, thankfully, is dropping Friday and just might save the whole damn week. On Wednesday, a pair of new Monáe interviews were released, during which she discussed the new album and shared her assessment of Kanye West's recent pro-Trump and far right-aligning remarks.
"Well, one, I don't agree with him if that is true and he is supporting anybody who thinks that, then I don't agree with him at all," Monáe told the Ebro in the Morning crew, as seen around the 20-minute mark up top. "I believe in free thinking but I don’t believe in free thinking if it's rooted in or at the expense of the oppressed. If your free thinking is used as fuel by oppressors to continue to express black people and minorities, I think it's bullshit and it's not OK. I will speak out against it and I will think freely and tell you that I don't agree with you."
Monáe, prior to West's tweeted "love" for Trump Wednesday, also spoke about West during an interview with Angie Martinez. "He obviously has inspired me, you know, as an artist," she said Tuesday. "I don't know where he is mentally, you know, I'm not close with him." Trump, Monáe added, has made his feelings on "oppressed people" very clear.

The Dirty Computer album and accompanying "emotion picture" will be supported by the just-announced Dirty Computer Tour. Marymoor Park in Seattle will house the tour's opening night, with Atlanta's Tabernacle handling closing honors.
