Taylor Swift Attempts to Dance Her Way Through Los Angeles in "Delicate" Video

The singer dropped the new video during the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Let's face it: Taylor Swift only has about three memorable music videos in her arsenal: "You Belong With Me,""Bad Blood" and "Look What You Made Me Do." And her latest visual for new single "Delicate" definitely isn't doing anything to increase that number.

Swift reunited with frequent collaborator Joseph Kahn for this snooze of a video, and if I have to suffer through watching it, then so do you. It opens with Swift on the red carpet looking frustrated with the problems of celebrity life, from constant questions from reporters to her stans that get a little too close for comfort. The singer is then handed a magical note that leads her to a hotel that makes her invisible to the world.

The singer then gets her La La Land on, as she finds freedom in dancing. She attempts to hit some moves (some of which are reminiscent of Sia's go-to girl Maddie Ziegler) and roams around the crowded hotel. Swift exits the hotel, jets to the subway and dances in the pouring rain before realizing the enchanted note's power has worn off once she enters a dive bar.

The "Delicate" video has slight influences from Britney Spears' 2000 video for "Lucky," as both touch on the struggles of fame and include a strained red carpet scene. But Swift's version doesn't hold the same cinematic weight as the pop icon.

My opinion doesn't matter much though, as Swift was recently crowned Apple Music's second most-streamed woman behind Rihanna. And she also won the Female Artist of the Year award at the 2018 iHeart Radio Music Awards, beating out RiRi, Alessia Cara, Halsey, and Pink.

"Delicate" is the latest single from Swift's Reputation album, following videos for "End Game" featuring Future and Ed Sheeran, "…Ready For It?" and "Look What You Made Me Do." Swift will begin her stadium world tour this May along with openers Charli XCX and Camila Cabello.
