Rae Sremmurd are gearing up to release their third studio album, SremmLife 3, but it's not just the sequel to their last album. The album is set to include three discs, with a solo album from Slim Jxmmi and a solo album from Swae Lee alongside their third album as a duo. Speaking with Big Boy, the pair talked extensively about touring, working together, and what to expect from SR3MM.

They further explained the news that SR3MM will be a three-disc album, stating why they wanted to put out so much music at once. "We trying to do something new," Swae said. While Outkast did something similar in 2003 with Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, Swae and Jxmmi said they're still the first duo to do a three-disc album. "It's really like I'm doing it for myself, you know what I'm saying so people looking at the group so then they have this type of stigma on what Slim Jxmmi is."

They also said that people should leave Lil Xan alone for his thoughts on Tupac, with Swae saying, "One thing I just noticed, like, it's bad right now but everything just blows over, and people forget about it." Jxmmi added, "I think everybody should forgive him, man." Xan recently caught flack for referring to 2Pac as boring, but he's since made efforts to say he's actually a fan of the late icon's music. Xan and Rae Sremmurd have a collaboration on the former's upcoming album Total Xanarchy, which drops April 6.

As for their upcoming tour with Childish Gambino, they remained hopeful about working with him on some new music. During the chat, the duo also clarified that the album will be dropping in April at some point and that they'll be putting out three new songs later this week on March 29. Previously they did the same thing announcing SR3MM, sharing two solo tracks and "Powerglide" featuring Juicy J.
