Kodak Black is looking to further his education while in prison, TMZ reported.
A judge has granted the Florida native's petition that a tutor visit him while he’s serving out his sentence in a Florida prison. Kodak also requested a laptop, though there's no word on whether that will be granted. He’s planning to get his GED with the tutor’s help.
Kodak was ordered to spend 30 days in an individual cell on March 16 after making an unauthorized three-way call on a jail phone. He was purportedly attempting to contact someone with whom "he was not supposed to speak," per TMZ. He then filed documents asking for his personal tutor to be given solitary confinement visitation privileges.
However, Kodak was released from solitary on March 19. That same day, his Twitter account tweeted that Chris Brown helped him with his books. "Fresh out the bing... that boy @chrisbrown just dropped 10 racks on my books, that’s love," Kodak tweeted.
Kodak is serving time for an arrest in January, when the police swept his home. Following the raid, he faced a number of charges, including weed and ammunition possession, child neglect, and grand theft of a firearm. While some of the charges were dismissed, he pled not guilty to possession of a firearm, ammunition, or weapon by a delinquent and possession of cannabis over 20 grams.
Last October, he was sentenced for first-degree sexual assault charges in an incident that occurred in a hotel in South Carolina. The two events were unrelated.
