Toronto native Drake has put his love for the city to the forefront of his music, and it doesn't look like that's stopping anytime soon. The rapper is currently working on his follow up to 2017's More Life and says the new album will be "for the city [of Toronto]." He made the announcement before the tip-off of the Toronto Raptors' match against the Houston Rockets, which also happened to be on Drake Night. "I'm happy to be home, I'm working on this new album for the city," said the Raptors global ambassador while standing center court in the Air Canada Centre.

“I’m working on this new album for the city… By the looks of it, this win streak is over.”

While Drake has love for Houston, his hometown pride was out in full force as he threw his support behind the Raptors. "By the looks of it, tonight this [Rockets] win streak is over." He was right: The Raptors went on to win 108-105, breaking the Rockets' 17-game win streak. The rapper recently posted new merchandise for his partnership with the team, and fans at Friday's game got long-sleeved tees with logos of all of the city's sports teams

Drake's last project, the two-song EP Scary Hours, dropped in January, and its hit single "God's Plan" is currently the No. 1 song in the country. There's no word yet on when the new album is dropping, but considering his recent success and the warm weather coming back to his hometown, it could be soon.
