Drake Is Ready to Drop Follow-Up Single to "God's Plan"

The song is produced by Murda Beatz, who had two credits on last year's 'More Life,' including "Portland."

Drake and Murda Beatz are sitting on a hit.

During Murda Beatz's recent Instagram Live session, Drake revealed he's enlisted the prolific producer for his upcoming new single. "New single dropping soon produced by Chef Murda," Drake commented during the stream. Naturally, Drake did not later announce the track's title or give fans a firm release date.

Last year, Murda contributed to two More Life tracks, including "No Long Talk" and fan favorite "Portland" with Cubeatz. His 2018 has thus far included new cuts from Nipsey Hussle, Smokepurpp, and a trio of Migos' Culture II tracks.

Drake, whose "God's Plan" just earned its eight week atop the Billboard Hot 100, dropped his two-song Scary Hours EP in January. In a recent breakdown of "Diplomatic Immunity" for Genius, producer Boi-1da explained the "luxurious dinner" vibes of the sample that started it all. "It all came from a sample that this producer named Nick Brongers had sent me," he said. "He has a very cinematic, old school, 60s kind of vibe to his sound."

Over the weekend, we got Drake on a remix of N*E*R*D and Rihanna's "Lemon" and the official video for his Migos collab "Walk It Talk It." All this arrives in the wake of reports speculating that Drake was set to become one of the many collaborators Kanye West may or may not have assembled in Wyoming. Given the momentum behind the 6 god right now, we can probably expect that Murda-produced single very soon.
