Birdman and Cash Money recently released the first part of their documentary, Before Anythang, and to coincide with its release the label has shared its soundtrack. Featuring 18 songs and a multitude of guests from Cash Money and elsewhere, the Before Anythang soundtrack is stacked.
Among those featured include Jacquees, DeJ Loaf, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, Snoop Dogg, Mannie Fresh, Kodak Black, and Robb Banks. Notably, Lil Wayne is absent, although the reasons behind his no-show seem pretty clear given his ongoing legal battles with Cash Money.
Birdman shared an Instagram post recently in which he referred to Wayne as his "son," indicating that the two were putting aside their differences after Birdman promised to finally put out Tha Carter V later this year. However, more recent reports seem to imply that their settlement negotiations have become increasingly hostile as of late.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, Cash Money has been ordered to hand over documents relating to both Drake and Nicki Minaj. This is all related to the $51 million lawsuit Wayne filed around three years ago, in which he claimed that Cash Money owned him millions in royalties while Birdman kept Tha Carter V hostage. The source indicated that when the lawsuit is finally resolved, "there will be no connection, no ties, and no business relationship."
