What else could top a year of wins than performing for and meeting your idol? While the rest of us sat at home Oscar weekend, Cardi B was busy fulfilling her dream: meeting her idol, pop icon Madonna, at her Oscar after party.
Cardi was one of the night's performers, and her fiancé Offset and Quavo were of course in the mix. "I met my real life IDOL Madonna. I can't even believe I performed at her event and it was the most meaningful performance ever," she said in her Instagram caption of the photo, which pictured Cardi and Madge alongside 2/3 of Migos. "I grew up with my mom listening to Madonna for hours. I performed 'Material Girl' freshman year in High school."
Meeting people you look up to can sometimes be a pretty big letdown, but Cardi insisted Madonna was just as she expected her to be when they finally crossed paths. "The best part about it is she was everything I thought she would be, a Liberal Kick ass feminist bitch. I’m soo happy."
When you think about it, it makes sense for these two to get along as two unapologetically vocal women who don't seem to care much about opinions outside their own. Reality star Kim Kardashian was also at the after party and ended up in full photoshoot mode alongside Cardi and Madonna.
In a photo with just herself and Kim, Madonna might have hinted at some kind of joint project for the two of them. "Eating paper with Kim," Madonna wrote in the photo's caption, "A foreshadowing of things to come." There's no word on what the pair might be cooking up just yet.
