The Notorious B.I.G.’s A&E Documentary Is Now Streaming on Tidal

'Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.' is available on Tidal.

It's been 21 years since The Notorious B.I.G. left the Earth. In honor of his legacy, Tidal is streaming a documentary on the late legend, Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.

The doc originally aired in September as a three-part A&E documentary special. But now the streaming service, backed by Big's "brother," Jay Z, is letting fans watch it on the platform.

This isn't the first time that Biggie's life was brought to cinema. His biopic, Notorious, landed in theaters in 2009. There was also the 2002 documentary Biggie & Tupac, 2007's Notorious B.I.G. Bigger Than Life, and the current ongoing USA seriesUnsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. that will run for 10 episodes.

However, the difference with the latest piece on the late rapper is this is the first biography to be authorized by his estate. Because of that, those closest to him are speaking on his behalf including his mother, Voletta Wallace, his widow, R&B singer Faith Evans, and the Junior M.A.F.I.A. Critically-acclaimed journalists and creators such as Luke Cage and Notorious writer Cheo Hodari Coker also say their peace on B.I.G.

At one point, as seen in the promotional clip (above), which shows a young Biggie rhyming, Voletta Wallace tells viewers about a time she asked him to stop making noise before he corrected her. "I'm not making noise. I'm rapping," he said.
