Donald Glover as Earn in 'Atlanta'

The second season of Atlanta is here, and the music continues to be fantastic. From the season two teasers featuring Yellow Days and Sonder to the wide variety of songs in just the first episode, the crew seems to be picking up where season one left off in terms of having some of the best music supervision on TV.

"It's very organic," Rothstein, one of the show's two music supervisors told us. "It's just the stuff [the crew] is listening to. It's the music their little sisters and brothers are listening to. It's the stuff people are riding with in their cars."

Listen to a Spotify playlist of all the songs from Atlanta so far that we will update each week. Underneath that, find a breakdown of all the songs from season one.

It goes without saying at this point, but in case you're living underground: Donald Glover's Atlanta is the best show on TV right now. In recent memory, really. Rarely do we see writing, acting, and social commentary woven so skillfully together at such a high level. The show manages to be hilarious and poignant all at once, a hyper-real look into the lowest levels of the music industry and the intoxicating elixir of hype.

One of the ways Atlanta has maintained its vice grip on the viewing public is its soundtrack. This is a show about music, after all, and Glover's character Earnest is constantly lost in his headphones. The show's taste is impressively diverse in both genre and time period—it's a show about a rapper that opens with Tame Impala's "New Person, Same Old Mistakes."

Episode 1

Atlanta Donald Glover

Our introduction to Earn, Darius, and Alfred was tense from the start—the parking lot confrontation that starts the series is just a glimpse into an already inflammatory, desperate world, and Glover made sure to pick music that reflected that much.

Episode 3

Migos Quavo Atlanta

If the third episode of Atlanta is any indication, Migos has a long acting career ahead of them. The three—er, four—members shone in their onscreen appearances as drug lords, somehow remaining charismatic despite shooting a dude in the back.

When Paper Boi gets dragged on social media, he can't let it go. That's a problem, but one that pales in comparison next to Earn's—he trusted Darius with an investment, and ended up with future puppies smh Darius.
