Watch Drake Surprise a University of Miami Student With $50,000

Drake gifts a University of Miami student with $50,000.

Drake is dropping some serious money on students' education lately. Earlier this week, while filming his "God's Plan" video at Miami Senior High School, Drake donated $25,000 and OVO-designed uniforms to the school. Now, he's following it up with a $50,000 check to a University of Miami student.

The student, Destiny James, went to Instagram to share the good news with a photo of herself with the Toronto rhymer (and the big check). In the lengthy post, James said she received a scholarship last year and assumed that would be the end of her cash flow. That's when the 6 God stepped in.

"Drake told me that he has read great things about me and appreciates how hard I've worked through so many trials and decided to give me $50K for my tuition," it read. "@champagnepapi THANK YOU SO MUCH!!' You don't understand what this means to me! I would've never imagined this happening to me. I'm just a girl from Denmark, SC that wants to MAKE IT and be somebody and for you to see my hard work means the world. Thank you so much. God I thank you. You are so great and amazing! Thank you for blessing me when I thought my hard work was going unnoticed. I'm living out my dreams."

In another post (above), James shared a video of the surprise moment when Drake came out.

"I'm in such disbelief! I literally thought I was setting up to film a video encouraging scholarship donors to donate to the school and this happened," read the post. For James, it's definitely all in "God's Plan."
