UK R&B artist Taliwhoah dropped "Sweetest Escape"—taken from her debut EP New Wave Order, Volume 1—towards the end of last year. A member of our 2017 artists to watch list, the singer's now starting 2018 showing and proving with her co-directed (alongside Director 411) video for the track.
Shot in Barcelona, the visuals put Taliwhoah in a lane of her own, and with her having been likened to the late, great Aaliyah, that is a comparison not based off of hype, but of evident talent.
Speaking to Complex about the video, she said: "This visual is definitely some insight to my more vulnerable side. I wanted 'Sweetest Escape' to really show what I look like getting lost in the moment from another person's perspective. Love is so different in everyone's eyes, and that's what makes it so beautiful."
