DJ Snake made good on his promise.
Earlier this month, the French DJ/producer went to social media to announce his first official record release since 2017âs âBroken Summerâ with Max Frost. The new single is called âMagenta Riddim.â
As the title suggests, this record is influenced by dancehall tunes and incorporates a number of elements from South Asian music. Itâs a solid reminder of DJ Snakeâs range and his ability to expertly fuse a variety sounds and styles. This approach was definitely highlighted on his 2016 debut album Encore.
The 14-track project was a commercial success, thanks in large part to its star-studded tracklist that featured names like Travis Scott, Migos, Justin Bieber, Jeremih, and more. The album also cracked the top 10 of the Billboard 200, and led the U.S. Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. So, is DJ Snake preparing to drop its long-awaited follow-up? No oneâs sure.
Shortly after Encore dropped, DJ Snake went to Twitter to announce the project would be his âfirst and lastâ album. Though he later deleted the post, the statement came as a shock to his many fans. Letâs just hope DJ Snake has had a change of heart.
