Less than a month after he was released from prison, Kevin Gates has announced when his next shows will be. For starters, he's set to perform in Dallas, Austin, and Houston, in a series of shows that will also include Migos and Cardi B as part of the lineup for JMBYLA from May 4-6.

In addition to that, he'll also be performing at the Common Ground Musical Festival in Lansing, Michigan on July 8, which is news that came courtesy of a re-post on his Instagram:

Last year, Gates had been given a 30-month sentence in an Illinois penitentiary as a result of pleading guilty to a felony gun possession charge that stemmed from a 2013 incident. After early reports stated he could be released in June 2018, he was actually paroled five months earlier, getting out this past January.

As a condition of his early release, he is under "mandatory supervision" and will also not be allowed to possess firearms. He had also said, in the days leading up to his release, that he would donate "considerable time and resources" to troubled teens once he was free.

Gates released his debut studio album Islah back in January of 2016.
