The Black Panther soundtrack is one of the best albums of the young year, and now you can enjoy a more complete experience. The soundtrack will be getting the vinyl and cassette treatment. Both formats are now available to pre-order through the Black Panther online shop.
The vinyl comes in a $34.98 2xLP set with an embossed and numbered lithograph. You’ll have to wait until its expected shipping date in May, though. But if you prefer the cassette set, that'll cost $15.98 and will go out in March. The heftiest package on the website includes an exclusive t-shirt, the cassette, the black double vinyl with gatefold jacket, and an instant digital download of the soundtrack for the price of $59.98.
The soundtrack (curated by Top Dawg Entertainment CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, Kendrick Lamar, and the film's director Ryan Coogler) is slated to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Billboard reports "industry forecasters" are predicting that it will reach that position with over 100,000 equivalent units earned. If it does snag the No. 1 spot, it will be the second film soundtrack to top the list this year after The Greatest Showman.
The soundtrack is a mix of mega and rising stars, including Jorja Smith, ScHoolboy Q, Mozzy, Future, Khalid, and more. Kendrick's "Pray For Me" collaboration with the Weeknd debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, while his "All the Stars" track with SZA is currently at No. 31. Black Panther hits theaters nationwide this weekend.
