Jeopardy! contestants may have 16th-century Italian history and astronomy on lock, but music categories have always been tricky on the popular game show. Faced with a question that clearly pointed to Kendrick Lamar from the “Recent R&B and Hip-Hop Hits” category, not a single one of the contestants knew it referred to him, according to Stereo Gum.

“Hitmaking was in his ‘DNA.’ He had ‘LOYALTY.’ He was ‘HUMBLE.’ & in ‘LOVE.’ — ‘DAMN,” host Alex Trebek said while reading the on-screen question. None of the three contestants knew the answer, allowing the time clock to run out and the first contestant to move on to the next category. Personally, I take the silence as a more respectable loss than guessing that the answer was Will Smith.

This isn't the first time Kendrick has made his way onto the show, with Trebek rapping bars from “m.A.A.d. City,” along with Drake’s “Started From The Bottom,” and Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot,” in a category aptly titled "Let's Rap, Kids!"
