BOOTS, the mercurial producer known for his work with Beyoncé,  FKA Twigs, and Run The Jewels, has returned with an unexpected new EP. The project, titled #DARKDAZE, features guest appearances from RTJ, Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Cristin Milioti. It's Boots' first project since 2015's AQUARIA, and coincides with his 31st birthday.

"The past few years have been strange, no doubt. But more than ever, I feel overjoyed that through all of the turmoil, humans have art as a language we share with one another," he wrote about the EP. "Every day that I wake up, I'm grateful to be alive, and I hope to be a source of light and love toward everyone I encounter."

Though his output has been slim, BOOTS did appear on Run The Jewels' 2016 album, and he was credited as a writer on 2017 tracks from Kelela and Vic Mensa. He also made headlines for revealing on Twitter that he turned down the opportunity to score Suicide Squad. "Music biz is unpredictable and movie biz even moreso. The moral is money is cool, but gut feelings are stronger and worth more," he wrote of the decision in a since-deleted message.

Prior to the release of #DARKDAZE, BOOTS posted a pair of short teasers on Twitter, showcasing his signature murky, reverb heavy, textural brand of progressive pop. He also contributed to the upcoming Fischerspooner record, Sir due out on February 16.
