TMZ released a series of photos showing Nelly in handcuffs, tumbled up bedsheets, and his accuser, Monique Greene, crying as she sits on a bed. A surveillance video was also released (above).
Since the allegations, Nelly has maintained the notion that he is "completely innocent." While Green filed a sexual assault lawsuit against the 43-year-old rhymer, she refused to testify, which resulted in prosecutors dropping their criminal case against him.
"We do not live in a society where a 21-year-old college student can feel safe enough to pursue criminal charges against a celebrity for an alleged rape," Greene's attorney said in a letter. "She wonders who is she to go by her small 'unimportant' self against a celebrity. Who will believe her? People are saying horrible things already. She cannot handle this. She is about to break. She wants this to end. She just cannot bear it."
Nelly has announced plans to countersue Greene but has yet to file the paperwork.
"It comes as no surprise that Ms. Green filed a lawsuit against Nelly seeking money after we announced our intention to hold her accountable," Nelly's lawyer said last December. "We always believed her accusation was motivated by greed. Nelly will answer and proceed with a countersuit against her for her outrageous unfounded allegations."
