What's even harder than, however, is to maintain your dignity and your pride in what can be a deeply traumatising time. Emerging UK singer-songwriter Maiday perfectly distills all of that and more into her latest single "Some Hard Feelings". I wish you the best / At least that's what I tell people, she sings agonisingly. While your outward demeanour may be protecting your bruised pride, there's a certain strength in knowing you ended the relationship for the right reason.
Maiday explained to Complex via email: "It's a song about a problematic person that I loved loads and don't love anymore. And that sucks—but I'm at an age where I know what I'll put up with and what I won't. I'm also not the type of person to sugar coat things, especially in my music. Sorry for the swears but sometimes there is no clean version."
