Nas’ birthday message to Nicki Minaj is stirring up some emotions.

In celebration of Nicki’s 35th year on earth, Nasir posted a photo of The Pinkprint rapper rocking a crown while sitting on a throne. He captioned the image: "Queens Get The MFkN Money! Happy Birthday To The QUEEN OF NY."

That’s a bold declaration considering NYC is the birthplace of hip-hop and the breeding ground for some of the greatest MCs of all time. When you factor that in with the polarizing opinions on Nicki’s career, it’s no surprise Nas’ statement generated discussion on social media. Some applauded the rapper for "speaking facts." Others were flat-out insulted.

Nas and Nicki have been fueling dating rumors throughout 2017. Though sources said the two have been dating since May, neither of them have confirmed a relationship.

Nicki addressed the dating rumors during an appearance on Ellen.

"He's the King of Queens, and I like to think I'm the Queen. He's a rap legend, so let's just say I have a lot of respect for him, and he's kind of cute too," Nicki said, before admitting they had "sleepovers."

She continued: "I'm celibate. I wanted to go a year without dating any man—I hate men. But I might make an exception to the rule for him because he’s so dope."
