John Mayer Rushed to Hospital for Emergency Appendectomy

John Mayer has been admitted into a hospital in New Orleans early this morning for an emergency appendectomy, according to a tweet from Dead & Company.

Early this morning, Tuesday, December 5th, John Mayer was admitted into the hospital for emergency appendectomy forcing the Dead & Company December 5th concert in New Orleans to be postponed.

Mayer last wowed audiences with an intimate performance at his Bud Light Live tour in Los Angeles, and was scheduled to perform today in New Orleans with the Grateful Dead offshoot band. The show has since been postponed until further notice due to his medical emergency.

Dead & Company has assured fans in a tweet that all tickets will be honored at any rescheduled concerts, or refunded at the point of purchase. Mayer's bandmate, Bob Weir, joined the voices of fellow friends and fans wishing the 40-year-old well:
