Jim Jones' Mother Loses House to Fire on Christmas Day

Jones told fans Monday he planned to buy his mother the "biggest house" possible and fill it with "more love."

Jim Jones said Monday he was "blessed with the greatest Christmas gift in my life" after his family escaped from his mother's burning house Christmas Day. In an Instagram caption Monday afternoon, Jones reminded fans of the value of family and vowed to buy his mother the "biggest house" he can afford. Jones also shared a video message to his 1.5 million followers showing firefighters at work.

"Today I was blessed wit th greatest Christmas gift in my life thus far and tht is my family gettin out of th house safe sound n wit out injuries," Jones said Monday. "We can always buy new houses new cars new evrything but we can't buy a new family. On th flip side watchin my momma house burn touch my soul in ways I couldn't imagine [sic]."

Jones continued, telling fans that his son's "whole life of memories" was taken away "in a flash." When Jones buys his mother a new house, he added, he plans to fill it with "more love." At the time of this writing, the cause of the fire had not been reported. "The devil is always workin but so is my God I got faith," Jones said. "Merry Christmas."
