About a week after the two rappers exchanged shots on social media, Banks said she had a revelation about one of Remy’s clap backs and its potential legal repercussions.
“Just realizing that I can sue Remy Ma for trying to paint me in a false light,” Banks wrote on an Instagram story. “Those pictures were not of my vagina yet she showed them to the world trying to say it was. I responded to something she said publicly and her response was making a private conversation between the two of us public.”
Banks went on to suggest that Remy violated revenge porn laws by posting screenshots of their text message conversation alongside explicit photos. The “212” artist then asked if Remy was still on parole, as the situation “could get messy.”
In case you missed it, the whole controversy started earlier this month after Remy’s interview on Ebro in the Morning. She spoke about the hip-hop landscape and the lack of female rappers who were making waves.
“When I came home it was nothing. It was tumbleweeds blowing through as far as female artists is concerned,” Remy said.
This statement didn’t sit too well with Banks.
“Remy, the hottest things you've released since you've been out of jail are Nicki love letters and she's still miles more important than you,” she said on Instagram. “Let me rephrase ... Remy ... you absolutely must step your shit up. The music you have been releasing is some serious old head rap shit and it's 100% unfair that you stand up on your reality tv booster seat and make any statements about female rap as if you have done a single thing to move the cultural needle since you've been home. It is not 2000.”
Remy fired back by posting screenshots of flattering text messages she received from Banks. Remy also posted a text message in which Banks allegedly complained about the way her vagina looked … with explicit photos attached.
As of now, it’s unclear of Banks has filed any official paperwork. Stay tuned.
