In an effort to give back this holiday season, Syd is hosting a celebrity auction that includes pieces owned by Vince Staples, Kehlani, Mac Miller, and more.

The Internet lead singer began organizing the event after realizing she could make more of an impact by selling her possessions rather than donating them.

“I donate clothes to the LA Mission all the time and one day I was about to donate a really expensive jacket and I hesitated...,” she tweeted. “I thought, why donate this expensive jacket when I could sell it and donate the money instead? $1000 can go a lot farther than a jacket.”

This realization led to the inaugural Syd's Sidewalk Benefit Auction, which will go down in a couple of weeks in Los Angeles. The singer recruited her celebrity friends to donate special items that would rack in big bucks, such as their favorite pieces of clothing, merch, and instruments.

The auction will benefit two local nonprofits: Project MuszEd, which provides youth with music education resources; and School On Wheels, which provides school tutoring for foster and homeless children.

Syd's Sidewalk Benefit Auction will take place from noon to 5 p.m. PT, Saturday Dec. 9 at The Underground Museum (3508 W. Washington Blvd.) in L.A.

Those who are interested in attending can purchase a ticket online for $10. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $15. Those who can't attend but want to contribute can make a donation here.
