Sam Smith and James Corden went for a ride in the latest episode of Carpool Karaoke. There were a lot of high notes, a lot of English accents, and songs that make you think of your ex. Towards the end of their car ride, though, Corden switched things up and invited one of Smith's favorite bands, Fifth Harmony, to join the fun.

During the first part of the show, Corden and Smith went through some of Smith’s hits, including "Too Good at Goodbyes," "Lay Me Down," "Money on My Mind," "Stay With Me," and "Pray."

Corden and Smith did some chatting in between songs, too. Apparently Smith got in major trouble for forging a letter from his dad to skip school and go to a Lady Gaga concert. Turns out he made the letter on a school computer, but left it signed on, so the librarian saw the entire forged document (rookie mistake.)

When Smith’s song "Stay With Me" came on and the two sang the first two bars, “Guess it’s true/I’m not good at a one night stand," Corden turned to Smith and asked: “Are you that bad at a one night stand?”

Smith replied: “I used to be awful, but now I’m fucking great.”

Corden then started to steer the conversation towards Smith’s love of Fifth Harmony. “‘Work From Home’ I listen to every time before I go out. I think it’s my wedding song,” Smith joked. That’s when Corden revealed his big surprise: he pulled over and all four girls of Fifth Harmony squeezed in the backseat. The six of them sang along to (a rather shortened version of) “Work From Home,” and everyone lived happily ever after.

Sam Smith’s newest album, The Thrill of It All, is out this Friday (Nov. 3).
