Fetty Wap was reportedly arrested early Friday morning on drunk driving and drag racing charges shortly after police in New York City observed him racing with another driver at a high rate of speed.
According to TMZ, the New Jersey rapper was pulled over just after 1 a.m. when cops clocked him driving more than 100 MPH in a 50 MPH zone on an NYC highway. When they approached his vehicle, a 2015 Mercedes-Benz, Fetty Wap allegedly handed an officer an expired New Jersey driver’s license and appeared to be intoxicated. Police gave him a sobriety test on the scene, and he failed. He was also reportedly given a Breathalyzer test and blew a .09, which is just over the legal limit.
Fetty Wap was placed under arrest and was eventually hit with more than a dozen charges. Those charges include reckless endangerment, drag racing, DUI, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, and more.
This is the latest bad break for Fetty Wap in 2017. In March, he was allegedly involved in a dispute that led to a shooting in his hometown of Paterson, New Jersey. The rapper and his former assistant also clashed over $250,000 scamming accusations in August.
Fetty Wap was booked following his arrest on Friday and taken to jail, but he is expected to be released sometime Friday morning.
