Cardi B Teased a New Song and It Sounds Like a Heater

We getting that album this year, Cardi?

We are nearing the end of this abysmal year, which would feel great were it not for the fact that we still don't have Cardi B's debut studio album.

At one point, the album was expected to drop in October. That never happened. Still, Cardi has popped up on a few hit collabs post-"Bodak Yellow" and—judging by a quick Instagram clip Thursday—is very much in album mode.

Following the massive success of her multi-platinum single "Bodak Yellow," Cardi dropped verses on G-Eazy's "No Limit" with ASAP Rocky and Migos' "MotorSport" with Nicki Minaj. The latter was originally written as just a Quavo and Nicki collab.

For her Rolling Stonecover story as part of the publication's Hot Issue last month, Cardi discussed her progress on the album. "I got six, seven solid songs that I like, but I wonder if a month from now, I'm going to change my mind," she said, noting that the expectations established by "Bodak Yellow" have crowded her mind.

Fans were briefly convinced that the album was set to include some sort of Beyoncé collab, but those hopes were later dashed by Cardi herself. A recording engineer shared a photo on social media showing what appeared to be a track-in-progress with "Beyoncé" and "Cardi B" in the demo's file name. However, when asked about the alleged collab at Power 105.1's Powerhouse concert, Cardi didn't appear to know what the hell people were talking about. "I don't even know why people are making those speculations," she said.
