Eminem may have drawn all the accolades with his BET Hip Hop Awards cypher, but it’s not as if artists like YG and Nipsey Hussle haven’t been dragging Donald Trump before the Electoral College handed the country over to a white supremacist sympathizer and former reality show host.
Teyana Taylor took things one step further and displayed some jewelry expressing her feelings about the 45th President of the United States.
“If I gotta slap ah puzzy ass prezzi ima make it look sexy!” the star of Kanye West’s “Fade” video wrote in the caption of her Instagram post featuring what appeared to be a few custom pieces by Greg Yuna. She used the hashtags #ZoomInIfNeedBe and #FuckDonaldTrump with good reason. A closer inspection of the chain reveals a golden likeness of Trump surrounded by the phrase “Fuck Donald Trump” in arching, diamond-encrusted letters.
Yuna has previously designed custom jewelry for Mack Wilds and others, and it’s unclear if he fashioned the anti-Trump piece Taylor flexed alongside a Rolex, “X.O.” Tiffany-inspired bracelet, and custom “Junie” and “Shumpert” chains.
With an August Gallup Poll showing Trump’s approval rating at an all-time low of 34%, dropping an expletive in front of the President’s name isn’t a particularly revolutionary action. But committing the insult to jewelry form while referencing Kendrick Lamar’s “Element” does make it a hilarious act.
Seeing as how we’re likely stuck with three more years of travel bans, failed attempts to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, insults of icons like Maxine Waters and John Lewis and sympathizing with neo-Nazis, you might as well let some anti-Trump jewelry provide a temporary moment of levity.
