The nominees for the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards have been announced. Kendrick Lamar, Cardi B, and DJ Khaled lead this year's group of potential winners with a whopping nine nominations each. Elsewhere, Chance the Rapper and Jay Z tied with five nominations while Future and Migos held strong with four.

This year, BET is taking the ceremony to the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater. The show will tape Oct. 6 and air Oct. 10. In a statement to Billboard, BET's programming boss Connie Orlando said the network remains sensitive to the victims of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey.

"Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with those who are facing the impact of this catastrophic storm," Orlando said. "As a network, we are committed to offering our full support during this most devastating time. Through Hip Hop Awards 2017, our Hip Hop for Hurricane Relief will bring together some of the biggest names in hip hop to acknowledge those in need as the country begins the difficult process of rebuilding."

Last year's Bet Hip Hop Awards included a number of memorable performances and well-earned wins. Drake took home Best Hip-Hop Video for "Hotline Bling," while Kendrick Lamar grabbed both the Best Live Performer and Lyricist of the Year honors. Kanye West, Director X, Metro Boomin, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, French Montana, and Travis Scott were also among the 2016 winners.
