When it comes to her energy, Solange Knowles does not fuck around. Arguably one of the most pure examples of Black Girl Magic™, the Houston singer, Insecure music consultant emeritus and all-around badass creative woman deleted her Twitter account on Tuesday night. Before leaving the platform, she tweeted one last message about Takiyah Thompson, a 22-year-old woman arrested Tuesday for involvement in the takedown of a Confederate monument in Durham, North Carolina.

Thompson, a North Carolina Central University student, was charged with felonies: participation in a riot with property damage in excess of $1,500, and inciting others to riot where property damage exceeds $1,500. She was also charged with damage to real property and disorderly conduct by injury to a statue, which are misdemeanor charges.

After leaving us in the dust on Twitter, Solange took to Instagram (thank God she's keeping that one around) to express her frustration with the mad times we're living in. In a screenshot of her Notes app posted to Stories, the singer wrote, "been trying to practice self preservation during this time and not give racist ugly ass fuck bois who reek of citronella my energy so that I can preserve my spirit to perform this album."
She then listed a great series of "fuck you" statements: "fuck white supremacist... fuck nazis... fuck your stale ass bland ass monuments... fuck asking folks to be graceful."
Given our current state of affairs, all I can say is: amen, Solange. Amen.
