Premiere: Jevon Shows His Poetic Side In New "Do The Road" Video

A moving testament not just to what West London has been through, but what its residents are capable of.

When Coventry artist Jevon first popped on the scene, he was getting attention primarily for his producing and rapping. Since then, he's demonstrated just how versatile he can be as a vocalist and, on new track "Do The Road", as a poet. The tone is a little more sombre than past events—and as the tune and the visuals play out, you begin to understand why.

"The video was filmed in West London," Jevon told Complex over email. "It represents the pressures of becoming a product of my environment. I feel West London has been through so much over the last few years, and I wanted to bring key people from West London together for a moment." Still, the video's not without its uplifting moments. The spoken-word intro gives way to a smokey, rap heater with a groove-laden instrumental behind it. Then there's the cameos from West London heroes like Big Zuu, AJ Tracey and more that also lighten up proceedings. All in all, it's a moving testament not just to what West London has been through, but what its residents are capable of when they're given a chance.
