ELWD

One of our favourite experimental beatsmiths, ELWD is back and he's got a brand new full-length on the way with All Good Things. The colossal 20-track release (due Aug. 25 through Bad Taste Records, pre-order here) builds on all the elements that made past drops Tropic and last year's There's Light Somewhere: woozy, pitched-down vocals, crackling tape hisses and downtempo hip-hop beats. To this, he adds in new elements that push his sound forward beyond the bleeding edge of laid-back beat production. As is often the case with ELWD's output, All Good Things is not an album to be enjoyed in half measures. We say this about every ELWD album, but for best results, clear your afternoon and give it your undivided, uninterrupted attention.

Catch ELWD at the launch party at Rye Wax in London (Aug. 16). Head here for more info on the party, which is free entry.
