Playboi Carti shared his new video "New Choppa" Thursday. The visual sees Carti and ASAP Rocky having a smoke session on the couch while watching themselves star in a 1-555-NEW-CHOPPA advertisement, and those are the only words that will be written here about what happens in a music video. You know the drill. Just light one up and watch it yourself.
"New Choppa" is the latest track off Carti's self-titled debut to get a video. Carti, in quick succession, previously dropped the official videos for "Magnolia" and Lil Uzi Vert-featuring "Woke Up Like This."
Carti also popped in for the ASAP Mob video "RAF," taken from the crew's just-released Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy featuring additional appearances from Carti and many more. Earlier this summer, Carti joined ASAP Rocky on Lana Del Rey's Lust for Life single "Summer Bummer."
In his recent 2017 XXL Freshman Class interview, Carti outlined his ambitious plans for the future. "I want my impact to be legendary," Carti said. "I want everyone to remember me as just a mogul. A young dude that just lit forever. I feel like it's important for me to expand, to create my own label. With a label, I can just give someone the opportunity that I was given, you know? That's what it’s all about, just helping."
Carti added that, while he doesn't want to move away from "that SoundCloud shit," his success depends on doing exactly that. "I just want to make both crowds happy," he explained.
Next month, Carti joins ASAP Mob on the Too Cozy Tour. Check for nearby dates here.
