The release of Fekky's much-anticipated debut album, El Clasico, is drawing ever closer. Dropping on August 4 through Island Records, the 18-track set will feature the singles "Call Me Again", "Billi", "Mad Ting, Sad Ting", "Gossip", "Way Too Much", plus his new one, "Avirex", which we're premiering today. Underpinning a UK garage-meets-trance-meets-trap riddim, Fekky recruits UKG legend Neutrino and grime comeback kid Chip for a mash-up club spinner in "Avirex"—a song the rapper says is "all about rebuilding a moment."
Fekky went on to tell Complex: "I feel like Neutrino and So Solid were the beginning of seeing people from where I'm from on the telly—shooting crazy videos, winning crazy awards—and living a certain lifestyle. For me, it felt like Chip was at the end of that era into a new one so I just wanted to capture every era up to now, and that's really why I put them both on it. Obviously, I'm the new kid on the block—so I thought to myself: 'Let's have it all lead up to me.'"
Dust off your Avirex jackets and press play below.
