When the mood strikes, Earl Sweatshirt can be a master promoter. Need I remind you of Mocha Desire? But ever since his label made 2015's I Don't Like Shit, I Don't Go Outside available for pre-order—effectively spoiling Earl's plans for a surprise release—he's been very careful about what makes it to the public's ears.

That's not to say Earl has been hibernating. There have been plenty of highlight moments in the time since I Don't Like Shit. Earl reunited with Tyler, the Creator at Camp Flog Gnaw last year amidst rumors of a rift, and his verse on Danny Brown's "Really Doe" might be the best on a song stacked with heavyweights. But when it comes to solo material, we've only gotten hints at the direction Earl's heading on this next album.

And there is a next album—Earl confirmed it back in February, and there have been hints and live performances that prove he's been hard at work. So while we wait for the release date to finally come, get familiar with everything we know about Earl Sweatshirt's next album above.
