Drake Breaks Adele's Billboard Music Award Record

The last few years, Adele has been the one breaking records in the music industry left right and centre, but at this year’s Billboard Music Awards, which aired on Sunday, Drake came out on top, breaking Adele’s record of most awards won in one night. Of his 22 nominations, he  walked away with 13 wins, including Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Album, Top R&B Song and Top Male Artist.

Drake also managed to beat out Justin Bieber, Beyonce, The Chainsmokers, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Adele, The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes and twenty one pilots to win the prize of Top Artist. He brought his entire entourage, including his father of course, up on stage to celebrate with him and made sure to acknowledge Adele saying she’d probably be “back on top” when her next album drops.

His 13 wins mean Drake’s latest album “More Life” has secured him a spot in an elite group of musicians who can claim to have double-digit wins at the Billboard Music Awards in a single night. In addition to Adele, the other artists include Whitney Houston and Usher. That means there are plenty of photos of Drake attempted to jungle all 13 of his brand new statues. We’d wonder where he’s going to put them all, but we’ve seen the floor plan for his 21,000 square foot Bridle Path mansion. Chances are there’s a trophy room. Or two.
