The first day of spring is just a few weeks away, and you know what that means. In Canada, we live for our summers, so just to know we're in the homestretch before we finally get some warm weather certainly has us in a summery mood as of late, despite the coldness outside. Another amazing thing about summer is obviously the music, and while J-Soul's latest "Mod Ting" sounds like an upbeat summer jam at first listen, the Toronto native actually addresses some more serious topics in his lyrics, making this tune seem more fitting for the the grey skies and chilly temperatures we're in the midst of.

The Cash Money signee continues the momentum from his smash "Slow Wine" with another catchy, reggae-infused pop song and despite the bouncy beat, J-Soul bares his innermost thoughts including the pressures of his newfound fame and how his life has changed since he signed with Birdman's iconic label last year. He also alludes to a lack of loyalty among his friends: “World spinnin, friends switchin’.”

The track features production from some other homegrown Canadian talent in Ottawa up-and-comers Ariyan Kharaghani and Elijah Woods. Check it out below.
