After a mind-blowing Halftime performance at the Super Bowl yesterday, Lady Gaga announced her next world tour in support of her latest album Joanne. The tour will kick off in Vancouver on August 1, traveling around North America in August and September, and will wrap up with a series of European dates before coming back stateside for a final run. It's Gaga's first solo tour in almost three years.
She's always been known for her incredibly live performances, and she gave fans a preview of what to expect on the Joanne tour last night. There were no cameos or surprise appearances but she certainly didn't need them. She performed a medley of some of her most popular tunes, dangled over the crowd with suspension cables and managed to change costumes three times throughout the performance.
The talented singer-songwriter, born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has headlined four tours since 2009 including the Fame Ball Tour (2009), the Monster Ball Tour (2009-2011), the Born This Way Ball (2012-2013), and ArtRave: The ARTPOP Ball in 2014. She also joined Tony Bennett for the Cheek to Cheek Tour in 2014 and 2015, but it's been almost three years since the world saw a proper Lady Gaga tour. Joanne the album has sold close to 1 million units worldwide in just three months and was No. 1 on the iTunes charts as of Sunday night.
