Nelly Furtado continues to evolve with her every release. The Victoria native recently announced her latest album, The Ride, back in September, and subsequently shared the electronically-tinged track, "Islands of Me". Now, the singer is giving fans another taste of the upcoming project, by dropping a VHS-style music video for the album's lead single, "Pipe Dreams". The simple short features Furtado walking through a sparsely decorated home, highlighted by grainy vignettes of her singing in front of a blank white wall. The smooth new song is a stark contrast to her Timbaland-produced breakout hit, "Promiscuous", off of the hugely successful 2006 release, Loose.
"Pipe Dreams" gets an assist from St. Vincent collaborator, John Congleton, who has handled the majority of production on the forthcoming album. The Ride is due at the end of March, and will run 12 tracks deep. Nelly linked up with Pitchfork to debut the visuals for "Pipe Dreams", which you can watch in its entirety below, via YouTube.
