Lil Wayne is currently at odds with Cash Money Records Co-CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams due to a $51 million lawsuit and some of Wayne’s direct verbal jabs at Williams during his live performances. While Wayne has been signed to the label in some capacity since releasing 1999’s Tha Block Is Hot, there are reports of Williams taking the Cash Money brand on the road without the artist he frequently referred to as his son.

“Birdman’s got huge plans for a Cash Money tour that will put Diddy’s Bad Boy Reunion tour to shame ... and he thinks he doesn't even need Lil Wayne to make it happen,” noted a recent report on TMZ citing anonymous sources.

The tour is rumored to include Juvenile, who in 2012 confirmed to Complex he sued Cash Money for $11 million before resigning with the label. Former in-house producer Mannie Fresh and Hot Boyz member Turk were also listed as acts on the probable tour, and it should be noted that both artists also had financial issues with Cash Money.

TMZ’s report links the concert rumors to the 20-year anniversary of Cash Money Records. Birdman is simultaneously promoting a 25-year anniversary Cash Money Collection with the retailer Pacific Sunwear. The label rose to prominence after the independent success of bounce artists such as U.N.L.V. before signing a $30 million pressing and distribution deal with Universal in 1998. Wayne led Cash Money to unprecedented success, landing 109 appearances on Billboard magazine’s “Hot 100” chart and courting Nicki Minaj and Drake to sign deals with Cash Money. Since Lil Wayne initially filed the lawsuit against Cash Money in 2015, there have been rumors of on-and-off negotiations between Wayne and Williams.
