It’s no secret Tina Knowles Lawson is an extremely proud mom. But her recent social media posts have reminded the world she’s also really cool.
This weekend, the 62-year-old fashion designer recreated two looks made famous by her daughters, Beyoncé and Solange. And she was kind of enough to share her spot-on renditions via Instagram on Sunday.
The first look was inspired by the cover art for Solange’s third studio album A Seat at the Table. We see Lawson in front of a bare, white wall with multi-colored clips in her hair; it’s an admittedly simple look, but there’s no question that she nailed it. Shortly after posing her rendition of Solange, the mother returned with a getup that took cues from Beyoncé’s LEMONADE visuals. Again, Lawson is seen in front a bare backdrop wearing an all-black ensemble, complete with a wide-brim hat, two braids, and a huge necklace.
It’s clear where Bey and Solange get it from.
The year has been full of many success and milestones for the Knowles family. Solange and Beyoncé's respective albums, A Seat at the Table and LEMONADE, debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart in 2016. The achievement also put them in a small and exclusive group of siblings who have solo No. 1 albums.
