G-Unit member and avid New York Knicks fan Lloyd Banks brought back his ‘Blue Friday’ music releases via Twitter following a Knicks 113-111 overtime win over the Charlotte Hornets. Banks revived his signature series with the single “Misunderstood,” which features production by Beat Butcha. The Queens native began the series in 2010, releasing a new track each Friday, and it culminated with the Blue Friday mixtape.

Shortly after Carmelo Anthony hit a fadeaway jumper to secure a Knicks win, Banks tweeted the link to “Misunderstood” and indicated it was the first of multiple tracks to be released.

If the Knicks win tonight I'll drop something new..

Banks has been active with mixtape releases in 2016, as he released All Or Nothing: Live It Up on Sept. 26. Roughly a month later, the rapper dropped the 14-track project Halloween Havoc 3: Four Days Of Fury. The releases mark a return to the rapid-fire succession of mixtapes that brought G-Unit and Lloyd Banks notoriety during the peak of their commercial popularity.

Lloyd Banks has not released a retail studio album since 2010’s The Hunger For More 2. That project marked Banks’ first since 50 Cent inked a distribution deal with EMI for the G-Unit imprint. Prior G-Unit projects were released under the Interscope umbrella.
