Watch A Tribe Called Quest Pay Tribute to Phife Dawg on 'SNL'

ATCQ performed "We The People..." and "The Space Program" on 'Saturday Night Live.'

Following the release of their first album in 18 yearsWe Got It From Here…Thank You 4 Your Service, A Tribe Called Quest made an appearance on this week's episode of Saturday Night Live alongside host Dave Chappelle—and they made sure the moment was a special one.

Q-Tip took the stage during the group's first (and presumably final) appearance on the show with a fist in the air and told the crowd, "If you're looking at us, stand up, touch somebody next to you. Everybody stand up, one fist up in the air. We are all one. We are the people." Then he and Jarobi jumped in to album standout "We The People..."

As Phife Dawg's verse neared, a banner was lowered from the rafters and Q-Tip held a microphone up to an image of Phife's face while Jarobi danced along—a touching tribute to the life of the late emcee.

For their second performance of the night, the group brought out guests Consequence and Busta Rhymes for the album's opening track, "The Space Program" (one of our early favorites) and finished the night in an emotional group hug. Watch their performance of "We The People..." above and "The Space Program" below.
