It may be cold as all hell out there right now, but what better reason to seek out some Latin sounds to thaw your frozen extremities? South London producer Kxngs, for example, has leant heavily on a variety of Latin-leaning influences for his his upcoming Earth Sign EP (due Oct. 14) and its lead single "Bora Bora". Though the Earth Sign EP is the first release on new label Ex-Local, the EP is just the latest addition to Kxngs' already extensive back catalogue that includes releases on Soulection and a stack of self-released singles and EPs on his weighty Bandcamp. Taking the rhythms, melodies and sound palettes of South America and coupling them with a shuffling bass line has proved an effective antidote to the encroaching winter. For that, Kxngs, we thank you.
